These terms are the rules for using TactIQ, a free football quiz game with daily puzzles, rooms for playing with friends, and a season table. By creating an account or using TactIQ you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. Who we are

TactIQ is run by Oluseye Obitola and Jimoh Lawal (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Who can use TactIQ

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live says you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to use an online service at your age, you must have it.

3. Your account

• Give us a real email address and keep your details correct.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account per person. Do not share an account or make several to get ahead.
• Your username and avatar are shown to other players. Do not pick a name that is offensive, or that pretends to be someone else.
• You can sign up with an email address and password or with Google. We may ask you to confirm your email address before you can play.
• Too many wrong passwords will lock sign-in to an account for a short time. This protects you.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.

4. Playing fair

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts or other tools to play, to find answers, or to collect our puzzles or data;
• cheat in a race or challenge, for example by getting help from someone else’s answers or exploiting a bug (please tell us about bugs instead);
• try to break, overload, or get into parts of TactIQ or other people’s accounts that you are not meant to reach;
• use TactIQ for anything illegal.

To keep results fair, we look for cheating and for points collected by abnormal means, for example the same result repeated, accounts that feed each other points, or many accounts made by one person. We may use the records described in our Privacy Policy to do this.

5. Rooms and chat

• What you write in a room can be seen by everyone in that room. You are responsible for it.
• Do not post anything abusive, hateful, threatening, sexual, or misleading, anyone’s private information, or spam.
• A room’s owner can remove people from it. We can remove messages, rooms or accounts that break these terms.
• To report a problem, write to [email protected].

6. Points, seasons, leagues and challenges

Season points, divisions, rankings and results are there for fun. They have no value in money, and there are no prizes.

• Seasons. A season lasts four weeks. When it ends, everyone starts the next one on zero points, in the division they finished in. Finishing high can move you up a division, and finishing low can move you down. A season’s champions are listed and stay on that season’s table. The main rules are explained in the app, and may be improved between seasons.
• Points limits. Points you can earn each day are limited, and may be scaled by how hard a game is, so that playing for hours is not the only way up. Challenges and rooms have their own limits, such as how soon you can challenge the same person again and how many times a day. We may change these limits.
• Challenges. Challenging someone is a friendly invitation. They can ignore it. If someone leaves a challenge or does not finish, we may end it as a loss or void it, as the game rules say.
• Corrections. We may correct, reset or remove scores or divisions, for example after a mistake, a bug, cheating or abnormal points as in section 4, or when a season ends. For serious or repeated cases we may suspend or close the account (section 11). If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we will look again.

7. Notifications

Notifications about challenges, season news and mentions are optional. You turn them on, and you can turn each kind off at any time in your account, or in your browser or phone. Season news is limited to two a day. We do not send advertising.

8. Our content and yours

• The games, design and software of TactIQ belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to play, for your own use, and for nothing else.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You allow us to store it, to show it to the other people in the room it was posted in (including when someone quotes it or mentions you), and to remove it if it breaks these terms, so that the service works.
• Player photos, club names and badges, and other football material belong to their owners, and are shown with credit (see the Credits link in the page footer). TactIQ is an independent game. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any club, league, federation or player.

9. TactIQ as it is

We work to keep TactIQ running and the football facts right, but we do not promise it will always be available, or free of mistakes. Puzzles can contain errors, and we may change, pause or stop parts of TactIQ. If you install TactIQ on your device or turn on notifications, the same applies to them.

10. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits anything the law does not allow us to limit, including your rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Apart from that, because TactIQ is free, we are not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, or for the actions of other users.

11. Ending things

You can stop using TactIQ at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to by law. If we do, we will tell you why, unless the law stops us. We may also close an account that has not been used for a long time, after giving you notice by email where we can.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will tell you in TactIQ or by email before it applies. If you keep using TactIQ after that, you accept the new terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
